Uma Thurman has signed on to star with Robert Pattinson in an adaptation of “Bel Ami” by Guy de Maupassant. Pattinson plays a journalist who goes from Zero to Hero in Paris thanks to his ruthless ad calculating bedding of the city’s most glamorous and influential women. Thurman plays the wife of Pattinson’s friend who is extremely connected in Paris. So basically Uma plays a milf, while Pattinson plays a sexual grafter. Kirsten Scott Thomas has also joined onto the cast. Shooting starts next year in Paris. In more psudeo-vampire news, Underworld 4 is going to happen with “Shield” writer, John Hlavin attached, although no actors have signed on as yet.


So there was an idea in the post credits scene of the recent Star Trek Movie to have a scene called botany bay. Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert on Lost) was apparently going to cameo in this scene. Abrams has now hinted that he wanted Carbonell to play Khan in the upcoming Star Trek sequel. The botany bay scene was apparently relevant to Khans character from Star Trek 2. It was also rumored that several TNG characters would make cameos as younger students in the upcoming movie as well. Karl Urban went on record to say that he wants more screen time in the new movie and wanted to have more dialog roles with Kirk.


Tidbits and Updates
Mandarin is being considered for the lead villain for Iron Man 3, according to the character who played Raza in the first movie. He was telling Moviefone (a British Movie Tabloid website) that he was very interested in playing the role, saying that it would be a good payoff for fans who saw him in the first movie.
Forget Rachel McAdams for Black Cat. The studios have gone and said that they wanted Julia Stiles for the role, and then even later said now they are approaching Anne Hathaway for the role.
