Each week, Lead Writer, Big Saif and his staff send us a list of items we are to discuss on the Digital Kontent audio podcast. Most of the time, the document’s contents do not make it to air, but you the reader get to see the data in his raw form here in, “Week in Geek”.

1) UPDATE! Stooges Movie Seeing Release.

In 2010, Sean Penn (Larry), Benecio Del Toro (Moe), and Jim Carry (Curley), will grace the silver screen with a movie about the life and times of the stooges.

2) ANNOUNCED! Your Highness – a David Gordon Green Movie

Acclaimed Pineapple Express director, David Gordan will be making a movie with James Franco and Danny McBride.

Ironically not a drug movie, but a medieval one.

Although details are not available yet, we here at Digital Kontent are guessing the plot actually is about two time traveling stoners who go back to the year 1591 to buy some of the most insane pot ever. They accidentally get sign up to compete in a jousting competition in order to impress the hot princess. Unfortunately, the Princess’ boyfriend, a short and heavy set plumber challenges them both to a duel. The winner takes the princess’ hand in marriage, the loser has to clean the stables. Before the competition could be started, a giant lizard comes to the castle, steals the princess. In the end, James Franco wakes up as Danny McBride plays Super Mario Bros. Thankfully, it was all just a dream, until Danny McBride is taken hostage by inflatable clowns.

3) ANNOUNCED! Alice in Wonderland in Imax® 3D

Due out March 2010 in Imax(r) 3D , starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, and Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Crispin Glover, Alan Rickman, and Helena Bonham Carter.

4) ANNOUNCED! Star Trek 2: Wrath of Con

With a 2011 release date, Star Trek 2, will be written by Robert Orci, Alex Kortzman and Damon Lindelof. JJ is on board, but not sure if he will direct.

5) ANNOUNCED! “The World’s End”

Edgar Wright is working with Simon Pegg on a movie called “The World’s End”. Pegg mentioned that if Shawn of the Dead was his character portrayal of someone in their 30’s, World’s End will be a character of someone in their 40’s. Pegg is also playing a one eyed weasel in the new Ice Age movie.

6) UPDATE! Twilight 2 – New Moon

Twilight 2, the sequel to the highly successful, Twilight 1 will release 11-20-2009 and deal with Werewolves.

Apparently gay vampires weren’t the draw the studios thought they would have been.

7) ANNOUNCED! Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are coming to a theatre near you.. in 3D!

With everything being remakes and sequels, the natural progression of film is definitely seeing the same movies over and over again with additional dimensions.

Toy Story 1 & 2 are being re-released in a limited 3D engagement October 2nd. Patrons who watch either of them will get to see the trailer for Toy Story 3(-D).

Also, coming to theaters this year in 3D, Home Alone 3D, Platoon 3D and An Inconvenient Truth… 3D.

8 ) ANNOUNCED! Brad Lewis directing Cars 2

With GM and Ford teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, Cars 2 will try to explain why Obama’s economic stimulus package will boost the American economy to children ages 3+.

9) RUMORED! Remake of Karate Kid

Starring Jaden Smith (Daniel Larusso) and Jackie Chan (Mr. Miyagi)

Instead of wax-on/wax-off, Mr. Miyagi will be teaching Daniel-son drunken boxing and how to fight with pool cues.

The Cobra Ki are officially fucked.

10) RUMORED! IFC looking for Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter Pilot.

Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter will be based on the erotic-action-sci-fi novels.

This movie will probably be a bloody-mess. Wacka-wack, toot-toot.

11) UPDATE! Stephen Chow might not be in Green Hornet

There was never a formal contract for Chow. Director was joking that they may get Donnie Yen instead.

12) RUMORED! Robert Zmeckis Christmas Carol Movie

Possibly in 3D.

PLOT: A Christmas Carol tells the story of the life of simpleton, Ebenezer Scrooge and his trip back in time where is invents rock and roll.

13) RUMORED! Affleck to work with Damon

Ben Affleck (”Reindeer Games”, “Phantoms”) may be working with long time friend and colleague Matt Damon (”I’m Fucking Matt Damon – Jimmy Kimmel Live”) in a project that may be directed by Afflect himself!

Damon is currently working on the fourth Bourne Movie, “The Bourne Giveusmoneyity”.

14) RUMORED! Beauty and the Beast rerelease… in 3-D

15) RUMORED! Marvel Comics is looking for Writers for their newer movies

With more than 5,000 crime fighters and villains in its library, Marvel Entertainment is looking for some help in adapting those characters into films.

Comicbook giant is readying to assemble a group of scribes who will pen scripts for various properties Marvel wants to develop. (read full article)

Finally, YOU can dust off YOUR Blue-Beetle Fan script. You know the one we’re talking about. The one where Blue-Beetle goes over to Psylocke’s to fix her sink and after about 3-minutes of talk, he whips it out and Psylocke goes to town.

Probably not the best idea Marvel has ever had.

17) ANNOUNCED! College Course to teach physics class using superheroes as examples

One of the more perplexing questions facing science these days is this one: How do we get more young people interested in science? Leading the way are a number of college courses — that can be taken for credit — that focus on the science in science fiction. After all, why can’t superheroes, Star Trek and Harry Potter teach us about the answer to life, the universe and everything? (Or, at least debate the merits of the answer “42″.) (read full article)
